Napoleon crossing the Alps. Oil on porcelain. 20th century, following the models of Jacques-Louis David (1801-1805).
Oil painting on porcelain plate enhanced with a rectangular frame decorated with plant and architectural elements inspired by French neoclassicism of the 19th century. The work follows a well-known painting, entitled “Napoleon crossing the Alps, and of which Jacques-Louis David made a total of five versions between 1801 and 1805 (one that was in Madrid until 1812 and today is in Malmaison Castle , another located in the Charlottenburg Palace in Berlin, a third in Versailles, another in the Austrian Art Gallery in Vienna, and the last in the Museum of the Palace of Versailles)." ·
