This magnificent mosaic wall art work is a spectacular example of the creative work done in the Ackerman era! Tile was discovered to be a perfect tool for creative artists to create marvelous mosaics in the early fifties! Mosaics have been around since ancient times, with fine surviving examples in Pompeii and Rome. In the mid century, what was old was new again with a twist!
This heavy piece is mounted on wood. This artist went through incredible amounts of effort to choose and break tile pieces to get the look desired! A very exotic piece!
Very fine vintage condition! Only light wear to show for the past half century! This piece has metal screws on all four corners to facilitate being hung in any direction. It also has holes in the wood where hairpin table legs once were mounted. So it can effortlessly be used as either wall art or a mosaic table furnishing for your interiors!
