Rare Nancy Wickham Boyd Design Technics Modernist Studio Pottery Wall Plate
About the Item
A rare, mid-century wall plate with primitive incised design and textured glaze by Nancy Wickham Boyd (1923-1987). Piece measures 10" by 10.5" and is signed Wickham on verso and very good vintage 1950s condition. Comes with its original hanging plate holder.
Wickham was an early studio potter who studied at Alfred University in the 1940s and worked with the esteemed Design Technics in New York. She set up her own studio in Woodstock, Vermont in 1949.
