About the Item

Full of drama and a tour de force of figurative drawing heavily influenced by Renaissance masters, this piece was made by Dunbar Beck in preparation for a large mural painting. Beck was well-known for his mural at the post office in Danvers, Massachusetts, and a set of murals for the 1939-1940 New York World's Fair.
