About the Item

Charcoal Portrait Drawing of a Man, Framed in Gilt Wood, French Mid-20th Century Portrait of a man executed with minimalist strokes. The drawing captures the essence of his face, hinting at his hair, a glimpse of his neck, and a distinct moustache. The simplicity of the lines makes the whole interest to this piece of art. Beautifully framed in a golden wood frame, with a double mat : the first, a rich wine-colored textile, and the second, a soft cream. The artist’s signature, partially illegible, appears to be "Virpa." Very minor losses on the wood frame (see photos).
