1950s Pair of Abstracted Still Lifes by Emil Weddige
About the Item
From 1957 comes this fabulous pair of abstracted still lifes by listed artist Emil Weddige. Striking Mid-Century art at its best. One is a drawing (top -- black and white with ochre tones) and one is a lithograph (lower -- pitcher, lemons, and orange fish).
Weddige became a world renowned lithographer and wrote the definitive text book called "Lithography" in 1966. His works can be seen in permanent collections at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the Philadelphia Art Museum and at the Michigan League.
He received his Masters of Art at the University of Michigan.
Framed in beautifully handmade frames by F.A.R. Gallery, Madison Avenue.
