About the Item

This beautiful artwork depicts a bustling scene of the Piazza San Marco in Venice. It was created in the 19th century in a style reminiscent of Giovanni Antonio Canal, commonly known as Canaletto. Painter of cityscapes or "vedute", of Venice, Rome, and London, he also painted imaginary views (referred to as "capricci"), although the demarcation in his works between the real and the imaginary is never quite clearcut. Please note three minor restorations on the back of the canvas. This piece is in very good condition, and the Empire frame elevates its aesthetic allure even further. The measurements of this piece, including the frame are: 77 x 65 cm.
