19th Century Watercolor Seascape with Shipwreck
About the Item
Antique seascape with shipwreck on a rocky shore, mid-19th century, a watercolor on paper seascape with a shipwrecked brig on the rocks, with another squall rolling in on horizon, unsigned. Mounted in the original carved and pierced gilded wooden frame with gold mat board.
Painting remains in very good condition. The intricately carved frame also remains in remarkably good condition, with just one bit of loss to the gesso discerned.
Measures: 17 ½ in H x 21 ½ in W.
