Antique French miniature painting signed, Portrait Napoleon Bonaparte's son. King of Rome, Imperial prince and heir of the French Empire (1811-1814). Antique French miniature portrait hand-painting of Napoleon II, in the white uniform of a colonel, signed by the De Herck. Son of Napoleon Bonaparte and Marie-Louise d'Autriche. Of oval shape, the portrait finely painted with the likeness. The old wood frame is original to this painting, and presents it well beneath the original cover glass. With hanging loop in back. Napoleon François Charles Joseph Bonaparte, imperial prince, titled king of Rome at his birth then prince of Parma, proclaimed Napoleon II at the end of the Hundred Days and finally titled Duke of Reichstadt by his grandfather the emperor of Austria. Son of Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor, he was in turn recognized as emperor, reigning under the name of Napoleon II. His nickname of the "l'Aiglon" was attributed to him posthumously.
