About the Item

A beautiful and decorative painting depicting a rural landscape with an old mill by the river. An excellent romantic landscape which proposes us, Jacques Brielman. Our painting signed on a lower left Jacques Brielman; it is in its original gilt wood frame. Late 19th-century Barbizon school, circa 1860-1870. Fine condition, on its original canvas. Dimensions unframed: W 27.55 in. H 16.14 in. Dimensions framed: W 38.18 in. H 27.55 in. Jacques Alfred Brielman: (Paris April 1834 7th - Paris February 1892 16th): French painter. Jacques Brielman begins his career with difficulty in 1845 in painting porcelain. He is the pupil of Eugène Lavieille, before becoming a landscape painter of the school of Barbizon. He painted in various French regions, the edges of the Marne and the Grand Morin, in Bourbonnais or in Brittany. From 1866 till 1891, he exposed to Le Salon and Le Salon des Artistes Français. Le Salon: 1866: La Ferme de Rouy-les-Bas, en Brie. 1870: Voie des Orvilliers à Thiais; Effet de neige au petit matin en Bords de Marne. 1886: Passage à Gué à Hérisson (Allier).
