About the Item
Carlos Aitor Castillo considered that the artist must know how to reconcile the universal with the national to achieve transcendental realizations. In fact, his painting has gone through almost all isms or schools, but without ceasing to pay attention to the influence of local traditions. Initially he practiced a figurativism attentive to the men and urban and rural landscapes of northern Argentina, and then ascribed himself to abstract art,[4] although later he returned to the landscape and the expressionist figures, from whose spirit derive his "Indigenous Warriors" that he produced between 1964 and 1968 and which he considered as an authentic contribution of Peruvian painting. 2] [3]
