Circa 1915-20 oil wash on paper/paper board "Live Oaks and Water Lillies on the Bayou", by Drysdale, American. Signed lower left. A.J. Drysdale. Alexander John Drysdale (American, Louisiana, 1870-1934). A quintessential example of Drysdale's finest bayou paintings with the desired water lillies adding brightness & casual elegance to his alway etherial paintings. Now examined out of the frame. Fine condition with framing details from Taylor Clark Gallery, Baton Rouge, LA: Conservation clear glass, acid-free matboard & acid-free foamboard backing. By sight: 19 1/8" x 29 1/4"
