About the Item
Colleen M. Parker (1944-2008) Australia, emus and crows, oil on board, signed lower right.
Educated at P.L.C. Pymble, studying art at school but otherwise largely a self taught artist.
Parker's work has been widely exhibited across Australia and her works can be found in private and corporate collections in Australia and worldwide.
Her travels across Australia, including Ayers Rock and Kakadu, inspired her with features of the outback landscape many of which were incorporated into her work including scenes from Kakadu, tranquil waterlily pools, salt pans, spinifex and crows.
Colleen was accepted as an Exhibiting Member of the Royal Art Society in 1979 and became a Fellow in 1986.
