About the Item
Laddie John Dill (American, b. 1943) graduated from the prestigious Chouinard Art Institute (later to be absorbed into the California Institute of the Arts, aka CalArts). He began his professional career as a printers apprentice working with such established Pop Art luminaries as Robert Rauschenberg, Claes Oldenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jasper Johns. Eventually he gravitated toward the West Coast Light and Space Movement, taking inspiration from nature, especially in the textures and colors he experienced in the California desert, as seen in this untitled 1975 work.
Signed and dated to verso 'Laddie John Dill 1975'.
