Early 18th Century painting depicting Adam - Roman School
About the Item
Beautiful large oil painting on canvas. The scene depicted is ascribed to the biblical repertoire of the Old Testament, taken from the book of Genesis (Gen 2.18-20) "God assigns Adam the task of naming the animals." In the center of the aforementioned painting you can admire the naked figure of Adam with a dog, an ox and a snake around him. Finally, the frame is made of carved and gilded wood. The painting can be attributed to the Roman School around the first decades of the 18th century.
