Early 19th century folk art oil on thick paper portrait painting of a little girl in red dress with lace trim holding a woven straw rattle and sitting in a painted thumb back chair. Unsigned, label on verso Daniel Seaward, Burnish & Oil Gilder, Looking Glass, Portraits and Picture Frames. Unable to find any information on him. Displayed in distressed gold painted frame, opening size 9.25" x 11", thick paper is glued to thin fabric and attached to stretcher, repaired tear near waist (through paper but not fabric), few scattered spots of paint loss, chips and losses to frame.
