Fauve Matisse Inspired Painting, TheArtist's Desk, with Catching Artsy Narrative
About the Item
This uplifting likely French painting in the Fauvist style creates associations to Matisse's 'L'Atelier Rouge', also known as The Red Studio, a milestone in the fauvist movement. This work has a lighter homerous tone suggesting a later time, but it tells a story about the artist and his favorite inspirations in a loose and fluent way reminiscent of some of Frank Stella's works, though he was seldom representational. It features an 'S' on the rather dirty backside as the only identification. Large and housed in a lacquered frame with protective acrylic glass the painting adds a refreshing character to a sophisticated interior. Image size without frame: 38.5 x 49 inches.

- Oil Painting in the Styles of Matisse and Bonnard, by Robert Delval (1934-)By Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, DelvalLocated in NICE, FRWe present you this charming piece, titled 'Nu et verdure fond rouge', which translates to 'nude and greenery on red background' in English. An oil painting on canvas, it is signed by the artist, Robert Delval (1934-) and dated 2008. The use of colours, perspective, depth, and form in this artwork demonstrates the influence of the artistic styles of Henri Matisse and Pierre Bonnard, which Robert Delval saw as artistic inspirations. Robert Delval, born in 1934 in Montmartre, Paris, cultivated his artistic skills amidst the street painters of his childhood neighbourhood, drawing inspiration from books and museums. At twenty-five, he embarked on a European and American journey armed solely with brushes and notebooks. Upon returning to France, he divided his time, spending spring and summer on the Mediterranean coast and autumn and winter in Megève, selling his watercolours to passers-by, including the likes of Françoise Sagan. One of his small gouache pieces, depicting a view of the Luxembourg Garden, caught the eye of André Roussard, a Montmartre framer...Category
