Henk Willemse - Aquarel of a City

About the Item

Product description: This aquarel has been made by Henk Willemse, an autodidact from the city of Amsterdam. Willemse started painting during the second world war when he was taking refuge in an atelier. Willemse was a friend of members of the CoBrA group, was a teacher at the art academy in Amersfoort and had his work exposed in the Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam. This aquarel shows a cityscape of a town probably somewhere in the Netherlands. The colourful linear brushstrokes offer a clear picture of a city and leave enough to your fantasy as well. Product condition: The aquarel is in overall good condition. The paper has yellowed a little and there is some small damage on the frame (visible on one of the pictures).
