Spanish painter, caricaturist and journalist, creator of Calvito for C.D. Valencia, specialized in sports and commercial drawing, his professional beginnings were in the pages of El Mercantil Valenciano, making drawings and caricatures of personalities of the time, including politicians. In 1936 he was expelled from the newspaper due to his conservative ideology, ending up in prison in the last stage of the Spanish Civil War.
After the war he became part of the editorial team of the newspaper Levante, as a cartoonist and sports editor. In addition to his employment in "Levante", Masiá collaborated with various sports publications, such as the remembered magazine "Torneo" (1944), in which he drew a weekly vignette. Before the war he had collaborated, under a pseudonym, with a similar magazine, "La Hora Deportiva." On the other hand, Masiá actively collaborated with the VCF.
Not only did he paint the "calvito" mural in the club's headquarters, but he also designed both the CD Cuenca shield - which would later become that of the Mestalla - and the official 1944 calendar.
From 1946 he dedicated himself to painting.
After his death in his hometown, Requena, they dedicated a street to him, "Pintor Juan Masiá".
