About the Item
Ivan Kurach (1909 - 1968) was a Ukranian born artist who continued his studies throughout Europe before settling into Milan, Italy. He began his career as an artist in 1939 and this piece, dated 1941, is right there at the beginning. It depicts as far as I can tell a bombing of a city during WW2. Really good use of color, movement and bold line work.
