Large size and slightly abstract Arab street scene painting.
This larger size and very well executed painting is another one of our recent great finds. It may be abstract in style, but it is done to such perfection that we all immediately recognize what we are looking at. Another quality of abstract paintings is that your own imagination or conditioning will automatically make you see what you as an individual will be able to see or will want to see. Sometimes when you look at a work of art, you don't immediately understand why you like the look of it so much. You may find out about it later in life or you may never fully get to understand it, but what is most important is that it strikes a cord with you and that you feel it should grace your living space. Maybe this painting gives you a good feeling or maybe it goes perfectly with (part of) your interior. Maybe it is because we have lived many lives before and maybe there are latent memories that influence the way we look at and feel about life in general and works of art in particular. What struck me the most is the light, the colors and especially the serenity that this painting breathes. It looks like these people, in the time that this painting was created, were living not nearly at half the pace of what we see in this day and age. Maybe there is something in all of us that would want things to be more like this now. Or maybe it is just the way I look at this painting at this point in my life. And that too is why art is such a beautiful thing, because it can be interpreted in as many ways as there are people. We truly believe that every antique and every work of art will (eventually and always) be there where it should be / where it is wanted and/or needed the most.
