About the Item
A serene and tranquil mixed media painting on paper titled "Joshua" by abstract landscape artist Marcus Uzilevsky. Titled, signed, and dated 1981 on the bottom left. Linear lines in pastel pinks and teals creates a minimalistic mountain scene. Uzilevsky often depicted the California coastlines. This piece is framed with a minimal gold gallery frame and features a muted teal matting. Dimensions: 23.75 in tall, 34.5 in wide, and 1 in deep (framed). In very good vintage condition.
Marcus Uzilevsky (1937-2015) moved to California in 1967 and began to attach his real name to both his visual works and composed music. In the 1970s, he began a series of landscapes inspired by the Marin hills. Famous for his intricate linework, Uzilevsky’s pieces display an unmistakable optimism: "I want the art and music I make to enhance each other so the total environment will have an uplifting effect."
