Mid-Century Modern vintage Oil on cardboard painting in teal, turquoise and blue color tones with a motif of the Ausseer lake in Altaussee by Begg 1967, Austria.
A wonderful impressionistic oil on cardboard painting showing a beautiful view from the boathouses to the middle of the Altausseer lake.
The modern and simple wooden frame in white color underlines the bright blue color from this painting.
The Austrian Altausseer See is a mountain lake and located in a part of Styria, im Salzkammergut.
First the aristocracy discovered this wonderful area, after then many famed poets, writers, painters and musician, e.g. Jakob Wassermann, Friedrich Torberg, Johannes Brahms, Max Reinhardt or Hugo von Hofmansthal, just to name a few, spent their holidays in this dreamy area.
