About the Item

"Renew As A New Person" is an original, one of a kind artwork featuring recycled materials, liquid pigments and glue on canvas by Spanish artist Saul Gil Corona one of three early works from a small private collection owned originally by a British businessman that has never been to market. In the words of the artist describing this work. Here there is light and shadow. We return to the theme of the struggle between darkness and hope. Recycled material, as it is recycled, is still something that has been given a second chance. This is forgiveness. Actually, as human beings we are full of contradictions and, fortunately (yes, I am saying fortunately) full of mistakes. Many times I think that life is to make mistakes, but immediately you have to recognize them and learn from them, give and give yourself a second chance. A second sincere opportunity, start from scratch, from a real zero. The mistakes are not beautiful because they often hurt, but it is beautiful to overcome them. Here is that recycled material expelling the dark inside. Throw the black out with an explosive force. And allow the clear to enter inside, leaving invaded by this hopeful light. In conclusion, another work that has faith in the human being as a builder of good. This is what Saul says about himself. Hi. My name is Saúl Gil Corona and I can't live without painting. Since birds can't fly without wings, like dolphins can't swim without fins, I can't live without painting. For me, painting is not something I do to find an inner peace or to relax. To paint is war with myself. Painting turns me on and gives me headaches when I can't find that work I'm looking for. I think about art constantly, many times I can't sleep. Although I find myself exhausted my head does not stop spinning. For better or worse, I am chaining this dream. I have had times when I combined art with hard work in factories. I slept little. The money I earned was spent on buying material to paint. I bet on this when I had almost nothing to bet. I have even thought about abandoning ... but I have never been able to, because when I spend a short time without painting I feel drowned and died in life. I'm autodidactic. With my painting I try to explain what happens to me inside. I really think I explain myself better by painting than by speaking. I like works that remind me that we are human, that we have feelings and that we still differ from robots (I say even because I see that in the not too distant future we will become machines, if we are not). I love imperfections, things that excite, I love what emanates from the heart. This is my goal when I paint. Although lately I also try other forms of creativity more philosophical and intellectual. This coming and going from one place to another, in the world of the creative. I like works with meaning, those that want to change something in some sense, even if it is something small and something of little scope. As a last thing to say that I admire the classics, both the classic painters and the poets, as all the people who, in one sense or another made the world a little better. I believe that to all who lived before us we owe everything we know and everything we can do. They made us start from a more advanced point where they started. They built things for us and we must respect that. But we also have the obligation to take this cultural heritage beyond for subsequent generations and of course always taking care of this place called land that we must love and make it last millions of years.
