About the Item
Oil painting on a plywood panel, depicting a mountain view with houses and figures in the foreground.
The pictorial drafting is characterised by a very textured painting composed almost of 'tesserae' of colour, identifying the artist Pavan's artistic production.
The painting is fitted with a contemporary guilloqué frame. The overall dimensions with frame are 50 x 58 cm, while the pictorial panel individually measures 29 x 30 cm.
A Veneto painter trained at the School of Drawing and Plastics at the Accademia Olimpica in Vicenza. He mainly devoted himself to landscapes, and the subjects of his paintings are testimony to his numerous trips around the Italian peninsula: from lagoon views of Venice and Chioggia, to rarer mountain views, characterised by painting with Divisionist references and mellow brushstrokes.
