About the Item
A wonderfully decorative and colorful pair of Italian 19th century gouaches, in the manner of Michelangelo Maestri. The pair are of playful satyrs and winged cherubs. The Satyrs are attempting to ride a donkey that is just waking up, while the other has a mischievous winged cherub in a chariot being pulled by two goats. The pair are framed within handsome cherry and ebony frames with a mottled inner edge.
