Set of 2 so-called 'Trompe L'oeuil' ( (deception of the eye) paintings - still life with dead game. These paintings were already made in the 16th century and developed into a genre in the 17th century. The objective was to paint materials and structures in such a way the eye of the beholder was deceived to think they were real. On these paintings the frame is painted and as such not real. The price indicated is for the pair.
