About the Item
This very colorful signed and dated mixed media large scale painting by Greg Miller is titled "Eden Roc" from 2006. This is one of his large over-scale paintings that is 72" X 72". The subject matter lends to a tropical paradise where swans, exotic foliage and flowers sit amongst images of an embedded car and other various subject matters that include layers of writings, phrases and other various unidentified symbols and forms. Greg Miller the artist and painter has been referred to as the Robert Rauschenberg of the West. Mr. Miller who grew up with images of pop art and that movement has brought them to life with his special interpretations and influences of the time he spent in California during the 60's. He was heavily seduced by the fleeting and challenging times of billboard advertisements from his childhood and teenage years. He excavates iconic imagery of mid century popular culture and then interrupts that imagery in pop art form. The collage is just a mere wonderful technique of masterful intricate layers of painting. The body of his work is a blend of paint and collage. Miller is considered a pop art artist that takes apart the contradiction of truth, question and ambiguity. Eden Roc is an exotic, happy and colorful focal painting from a private collector that was acquired in 2006. His work is featured in private and museum collections here and abroad with traveling international shows in Europe.
