Simone Colombier Abstract Gouache, Bordeaux School, France, 1947

About the Item

Framed abstract gouache on paper by French painter Simone Colombier. Signed and dated 1947. Simone Colombier took part of the abstract movement in Bordeaux, France in the mid-1940s. She exhibited her painted at various Art show (Salon des Réalités nouvelles and Salon d'Automne) from 1945 to 1957. The Fine Arts museum of Bordeaux acquired one of her abstract painting in 1950. This gouache is reminiscent of Albert Gleizes works.
