A Small Pair of Early 19th Century English Horse and Jockey Paintings

About the Item

A charming pair of early 19th century horse paintings! Each painting depicts a Jockey on his horse. The Jockeys are dressed in colorful uniforms. Delightful trees in the background, and a fence runs along in the background. Signed. Beautiful old (original?) frames with the perfect amount of gilding and nice beading. Each horse or Jocky? is named. I can make out Victor Wild I think in the bottom middle of one. Both have been cleaned and have foam core attached to the back - this provides consistent humidity and temperature as well as protects the painting from punctures. Condition: scratches, dents, marks, stains, uneven coloring, uneven varnish, possibly repairs to the canvas, possibly in-painting, possibly chipped frame, possibly cracked frame. Dimensions: 12x16” framed each MISC-106
