Venetian 17 Century Baroque Oil on Canvas Painting of Kneeling Cupid

About the Item

A fine and rare painting of a kneeling cupid holding a quiver, shown against an idyllic background. The style and subject matter are similar to works by Venetian masters from the 16th through 17th century. Restorers presently indicate that this painting would likely date from the early to mid-17th century. The canvas is in its original brass frame with an R appearing in a cartouche at the bottom of the frame: (Rex, Regina, Raphael)? The painting and the frame have been fully restored.
