About the Item
This is a vintage watercolor painting with a copyright date of 1920. The artwork is an original piece, not a reproduction. The painting was reproduced as a full-page four color illustration in the Volland Edition (1915) of “Mother Goose”. The book contains 108 full color reproductions of the original paintings. Originals were in watercolor, gouache, and ink. A hen greets the Dwarf King and his company of dwarfs in their mine. P. F. Volland Co. copyright (1920) seal on the lower left corner. The piece is of high quality and has been well-preserved over the years. The painting is unique and sure to be a conversation starter in any room.
