What is Art

About the Item

This fun painting explores art and its history throughout time. What we consider "art" ranges from truly creative, original works to simply clever designs that become ubiquitous from creative marketing strategies. What does it mean to create and consume "art"? What is art? is made of acrylic paint on canvas and neon lights. About John Brevard: Miami-born designer, architect, artist, and entrepreneur John Brevard founded his namesake lifestyle brand in 2007. His bio-mimetic designs are expressed in six series that are based on natural geometries and phenomenology. Inspired by dimensional hyperspace and principles of natural order, each creation is symbolic of the inseparable relationship of the part to the whole. John Brevard designs are expressed in different physical scales across many creative mediums, from jewelry to furniture, from sculpture to architecture.
