Marie Burgos Design
In her acclaimed residential, hospitality and commercial interior design projects, designer Marie Burgos emphasizes harmony, comfort and sophisticated style. She looks for shapes, textures, and colors to enhance her clients’ lifestyles while adding new design dimensions to their homes. This is also the approach taken in the Marie Burgos Collection of carefully curated modern furniture, contemporary lighting, décor and art.
Born and raised in Paris, Marie draws inspiration from French design and her family’s native Martinique. With a deep love of mid-century modern furniture, Marie has taken the clean lines that defined that period and given them a luxurious new simplicity. Her use of Feng Shui, of which she is a certified master, always plays a role in bringing harmonious balance. The result is sophisticated, contemporary furnishings designed for today that playfully pays homage to the best of an earlier era.
From 23k gold and iron pendants to hand woven paper lamps, the lighting collection offers a world of aesthetic styles while embodying an ethos of beautiful balance. Exquisitely crafted lights anchor the collection, bringing together a unique selection of chandeliers, lamps, and sconces that are otherwise unavailable in the US market.
In addition to the collection, Marie and her team have completed dozens of homes, commercial and hospitality interiors for national and international clientele. Her critically acclaimed interior design firm has offices in NYC and LA.

As her most recognized collection "Scapes" consists of landscapes, seascapes and skyscapes whose specific forms have been blurred in order to direct viewers’ focus toward colors and compositions. Sublime and abstract, the photographs capture grain fields, sea horizons, and sunsets from around the world. This photograph is being offered as a C-print face-mounted onto 1/8” non glare plexi with a custom maple floating frame (1/2" face x 2" deep with 3/8" gap). It will ship directly from the artist's printmaking studio with a signed certificate of authenticity. About the artist: Bonnie Edelman was born in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College on an academic and athletic scholarship. Having been raised in a family of artists and architects, Bonnie was always creating. Whether it was sculpture, painting, jewelry making and interior design, she has always had an intense need to express herself through creativity. Fashion was an all encompassing self expression so it was because of this idea of materializing thoughts, desires and inspirations that she decided to devote her career to the editorial side of the fashion industry. After an internship at Rolling Stone Magazine and then formally starting her career as the assistant to the Fashion Director at Seventeen Magazine, Bonnie moved through the ranks at Glamour Magazine and MTV. She then settled into the position of Travel Editor at Sports Illustrated, where she navigated the world producing exotic and inspiring photo shoots for the magazine’s annual Swimsuit Issue. It was during this time spent in The Islands of the Maldives, Ecuador, Venezuela and Kenya, to mention a few, while working closely with photographers like Sante D’Orazio, Russell James...Category

In his lifetime, however, his then-unorthodox camera angles, which hindered prose descriptions of his works, prevented his work from gaining wider recognition, as well as his use of symbolism also became unfashionable later in his life. Born in Budapest, the son of a bookseller, Kertész taught himself how to use a camera and had his first photos published while a member of the Austro-Hungarian army during World War I. Even as early as 1914, his distinctive and mature style was already evident. Kertész emigrated to Paris in 1925, changed his first name from Andor, and became acquainted with members of the Dada movement. One of them dubbed him “Brother Seeing Eye”, an allusion to a medieval monastery where all the monks were blind except one. His greatest journalistic collaboration was with the French editor and publisher Lucien Vogel...Category
