About the Item
Based on a first hand account of the true mass escape of the prisoners of war from Stalag Luft III German POW Camp in Nazi Germany, The Great Escape has become one of the most beloved films of the 20th Century. With an all-star cast lead by Steve McQueen and featuring James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson and James Coburn, the film depicts a heavily fictionalised version of the events described in Paul Brickhill’s 1950 book. Now a staple in many households annual watching, the film features McQueen in perhaps his most iconic role, and features the incredible motorcycle jump stunt.
One of the most iconic films and posters of modern times, this 1980 release poster features Frank McCarthy’s artwork shows the 3 key minutes of the escape, with McQueen, Garner and Attenborough leading the escape and is in fantastic condition.
