Original US Cinerama 3-D holographic display for Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
MGM really went to town on the marketing of this film, and produced special 3-D holographic displays for the Cinerama release of the film. This release was a wide-screen format, which could only be shown in a small number of cinemas that had this capability. This is one of the rarest pieces on this iconic film.
Stanley Kubrick's landmark science fiction film is still considered one of the most influential sci-fi films of all time. This piece is conservation framed with UV plexiglass in a Tulip wood frame with card mounts and UV plexiglass. The size given is before framing. The framed size is 18 x 15 in. (45.8 x 40.6 cm)
