Corsica is a French island located in the Mediterranean Sea, facing the Côte d'Azur (French Riviera). The main cities are Ajaccio, Bonifacio, Calvi, Corte, L'Île-Rousse, Porto-Vecchio, Propriano. Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT) is a French shipping company. Founded in 1855 by the Péreire brothers under the name of Compagnie Générale Maritime, it was entrusted by the State with ensuring the transport of mail to North America and took its final name in 1861. In 1883, four high-speed liners were put into service for Cruises. The Compagnie Générale Transatlantique offers trips on luxury liners, intended to represent the image of France abroad. Édouard Pierre Collin, born in 1906 and died in 1983, was a French painter, lithographer, engraver, illustrator and poster designer. Pupil of Albert and Pierre Laurens and Maurice Denis, he exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in 1929. In 1932, he won the Grand Prix de Rome for Painting. Between the wars, he produced numerous posters for Renault and the Red Cross as well as theater sets.
