About the Item

We simply adore the colours and design that features on the country-of-origin first-year-of-release film poster for 50s musical romcom Funny Face. Directed by Stanley Donen and written by Leonard Gershe, containing assorted songs by George and Ira Gershwin Funny Face stars Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. Dispatched on an assignment, New York City-based fashion photographer Dick Avery (Astaire) is struck by the beauty of Jo Stockton (Hepburn), a shy bookstore employee he's photographed by accident, who he believes has the potential to become a successful model. He gets Jo to go with him to France, where he snaps more pictures of her against iconic Parisian backdrops. In the process, they fall for one another, only to find hurdles in their way. Originally folded (as issued) this poster has been professionally linen-backed in the European Style (without any restoration). It is sized 26 7/8 x 40 3/4 inches (29 1/4 x 43 3/4 inches including the linen-backing) and will be sent rolled (unframed). Audrey Hepburn 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' Original Movie Poster, Japanese, 1969
Located in Devon, GB
Candy colors combine to perfection with the adorable Audrey on this charming Japanese B2 poster for a 1969 re-release of the perennially popular 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.' Holly Golightly would be Audrey Hepburn’s defining role, establishing her status as one of the greatest screen legends and style icons of all time. It seems unbelievable now that Truman Capote, author of the novella on which the movie was based, had his heart set on Marilyn Monroe for the part. Monroe pulled out of the running when her acting coach advised her not to play 'a lady of the night...
