About the Item
Original Vintage Airline Travel Poster for Air France and the Carnival in Venice, Italy, featuring a harlequin playing the mandolin and a gondola dating from 1963 by Guy Georget.
Guy Georget (1911 - 1992) is well known for his paintings, drawings, book illustrations and especially his posters. In the 1960s he was commissioned by Air France in the 1960s to create travel posters. He also designed the Arrow Bird, logo of the French Post Office since 1960.

All the symbols of Venice and the carnival are found in this poster: harlequin playing a mandolin, a gondola and its gondolier as well as Saint Mark's campanile.
Air France is the French national airline company, founded on October 7, 1933. Its main activities are the transport of passengers and freight as well as the maintenance and servicing of airplanes.
