Original vintage drink advertising poster for Campari bitters. Featuring great artwork by notable Swiss artist Celestino Piatti (1922-2007) of a bold smiling Campari bottle character holding a glass and a bunch of herbs and plants.
Celestino Piatti was the third of five sons born to a Ticinese stonemason and builder and his wife Anna in Dietlikon, near Zurich. After attending secondary school and general classes at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich, he completed an apprenticeship as a graphic designer in the print shop of Gebrüder Fretz AG.

Celestino Piatti
Celestino Piatti was a Swiss graphic artist, painter and designer. In 1961, Piatti became the designer for the newly founded DTV Munich, designing almost all of DTV's publications, a total of more than 6,300 titles. In addition to posters and books, his works also included stamps for the Swiss post office, lithographs, woodcuts and linocuts, stained glass, murals and other paintings, ceramics and sculptures. A motif that runs through his entire work, is the owl, as a messenger of good luck or misfortune, or as a symbol of wisdom.
