Original vintage clothing advertising poster - Always to the Fore! Peter Scott Sportswear Pure Wool and Pure Cashmere - featuring a great illustration of a lady in a fashionable sports top, skirt and hat playing golf, swinging her club in front of a smartly dressed gentleman in a tie and plus fours on a golf course with trees and hills in the distance below the blue sky, the colourful bold text on a black background on the side. Based in Hawick on the Scottish Borders, the well known knitwear company Peter Scott & Company was established in Hawick on the Borders of Scotland in 1878 manufacturing high quality underwear, outerwear and sportswear; the textile company provided knitted uniform garments during both world wars; after WWII it focused on fashion outerwear to become an international brand by the mid-1980s; in 2010 the company was taken over by Gloverall and in 2016 the factory was permanently closed. Fair condition, staining, foxing, creasing, backed on board, kickstand on reverse.
