Original vintage travel poster for Saint-Nectaire featuring a colourful scenic Art Deco illustration by Roger de Valerio (1886-1951) depicting two ladies wearing fashionable red and blue dresses looking out over the alps from a hilltop with a fountain in the foreground and houses, stone walls and trees lining the valley leading to snow topped mountains in the distance, the bold lettering below reading: Saint-Nectaire – Casino – Golf – Auvergne station Du Rein. Named after the historical estate belonging to the Count of Auvernge, Saint-Nectaire is a spa resort town located in the Puy-de-Dome department of Auvergne in central France and is home to thermal springs and mountain caves. Roger de Valerio
Roger de Valerio, whose real name Roger Laviron was a French designer, poster designer and painter who is more particularly known for his advertising posters. De Valerio studied architecture at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. From 1911–14, he worked as artistic director for the newspaper Le Matin. From 1917–24, he joined the music publisher Salabert for which he produced more than 2,000 covers. In 1926, he was an artistic advisor at Devambez for whom he produced some superb posters, then in 1932, he took over the management of the newspaper Le Rire. From 1936–40, he was an associate director of Perceval editions. In 1933, he taught at the technical school of publicity. In 1940, he decided to retire to Belle-Île-en-Mer to devote himself to painting, then to the illustration of books. He produced 19 engravings for Alfred Jarry's Surmâle. In 1951, he illustrated The Lion and the Hen by Sacha Guitry in the edition of Raoul Solar.

Casino Royale is a 1967 British-American spy parody film originally produced by Columbia Pictures featuring an ensemble cast. It is loosely based on Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel. The film stars David Niven as the "original" Bond, Sir James Bond 007. Forced out of retirement to investigate the deaths and disappearances of international spies, he soon battles the mysterious Dr. Noah and SMERSH.
