About the Item
Barbarella has more than its fair share of fantastic alternative poster artwork and the Czech one featuring Karel Saudek’s comic book style artwork is one of its finest. Understandably, one of the most coveted Czech posters and impossibly rare, especially in the larger Czech size.
Barbarella (Jane Fonda), an astronaut from the 41st century, sets out to find and stop the evil scientist Durand Durand (Milo O'Shea), whose Positronic Ray threatens to bring evil back into the galaxy.
Like their neighbours in Poland, the designers of the Czech Republic, free from commercial constraints and enjoying far greater artistic freedom than their Western counterparts, treated film poster design as an art form. The result is an immensely powerful, wildly original and beautiful body of work.
This original vintage movie poster is sized 22 3/4 x 31 1/2 inches. It will be sent rolled (unframed).

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Originally folded but stored flat for a long time and folds barely noticeable. Just very light creasing on folds and edges, poster darkened slightly with age. Really fantastic condition.
