Original vintage British Railways travel poster - Essex See England by Rail - featuring a great image of St. Osyth's Priory depicting a lady and man walking along a path towards the viewer with people relaxing and children playing on the grass under trees in front of the historic Priory gates, the St George Cross and Union Jack flags flying on the towers above the entrance against a blue summer sky and the title text below. Named after an English saint Osgyth (Osyth; d 700), St Osyth's Abbey (St Osyth's Priory) was founded in c 1121, built on the site of the former nunnery and dissolved in 1539 by King Henry VIII; the estate now comprises 22 listed buildings and a registered registered park and garden. Artwork by R Sharps. Published by The Railway Executive (Eastern Region). Printed by Stafford and Co. Ltd. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, staining, backed on linen.
