About the Item

Original vintage Batman cartoon poster featuring a colourful illustration of the comic book superhero wearing his grey and blue costume, mask and cape with the bat logo on a yellow background on his chest, the cartoon character leaning back as he's hit by something with his speech bubble reading: Nonsense! There are no such things as – Uhh! Artwork by the notable American comics artist Carmine Michael Infantino (1925-2013). An iconic and popular superhero character, Batman was created by Bob Kane (artist) and Bill Finger (writer) and redesigned by Carmine Infantino under the directorship of the comic book editor Julius Schwartz in 1964 for the launch of the Batman television series in 1966; Batman first appeared in issue 27 of Detective Comics in 1939 published by DC Comics and he continues to appear in radio and TV shows, movies and games. Printed by G & F Posters NYC official licensees Copyright National Periodical Publications Inc 1966. Excellent condition, backed on linen.
