Original vintage cruise ship travel poster - Canadian Pacific Empress of Australia Europe Canada USA - featuring a night time seascape by Alfred Crocker Leighton (1901-1956) depicting a small steam boat approaching the Empress of Australia ocean liner lit up by the lights from the ship, reflected on the rippling waves of the sea set in a border with the bold title text and information below - Local agency Ludlow and Sons 77 Market Jew Street, Penzance. Built for Hamburg America Line and launched in 1913, the RMS Empress of Australia was originally named Tirpitz; her name was changed when she was bought by Canadian Pacific serving the Pacific then Atlantic routes and round the world voyages; she served as a troopship during World War Two and was scrapped in Scotland in 1952. Good condition, restored folds, restored tears, restored paper loss on bottom edge, minor creasing, minor staining, backed on linen.
