Original vintage Guinness advertising poster - Opening time is Guinness Time - featuring an iconic design depicting the trademark smiling toucan using his colourful bill to open a bottle of Guinness extra stout, the title in bold green and red letters above. One of the world's most popular beer drink brands, Guinness is an Irish dry stout founded by Arthur Guinness in Dublin in 1759. The toucan was introduced to the company's marketing campaign in 1935 by John Gilroy and Dorothy Sayers working for the advertising firm S.H. Benson; the animals were dropped from Guinness adverts in 1982 when the company changed advertising agency. Printed in Great Britain by John Waddington Ltd., Leeds. Large size. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, restored folds, staining, backed on linen.
