About the Item
Original vintage movie poster for an MGM film in Technicolour - Ziegfeld Follies - the Greatest production since the birth of motion pictures! featuring an all star cast including Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Lucille Ball, Lucille Bremer, Gene Kelly and others, directed by Roy Del Ruth and Vincente Minnelli, and produced by Arthur Freed. Fun pin-up style design depicting a lady in a feather bird costume smiling at the viewer while holding a telephone with her other hand on her hip, the bold stylised title letter Z following the shape of her body with the text on the side against the yellow background. This musical film was a cinematic take on The Ziegfeld Follies theatrical production on Broadway New York City that ran from 1907 to 1931, inspired by the pretty pin up chorus girls and dancers of the Folies Bergere Paris and conceived by Florenz Ziegfeld (1867-1932). Printed by Simmons Limited, Sydney. Good condition, folds, creasing, small tears, minor staining.
