Original vintage advertising poster - Tea An Empire Industry Where Our Tea Comes From. Rare small version depicting colourful illustrated maps of India and Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) featuring the city names in decorative banners as well as images of people, historical places and buildings including the Taj Mahal and temples, trees, animals and birds including farm animals, elephants and wild cats, a plane flying by clouds with the wind blowing, the sun, moon and stars, and sailing boats and ships on the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean with round crests below the country banners and the title text above in stylised letters, set within black and red borders. Artwork by the notable British cartographer, graphic designer and artist Leslie MacDonald "Max" Gill (1884-1947). Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, restored folds, small stains, backed on linen.
