Original vintage London Transport poster featuring the fun and colourful surreal artwork Wild Or Savage by Betty Swanwick (1915-1989) depicting various animals and birds that can be found in the open parks and gardens, woods and forests, and zoos in and near London including a lion and a crocodile wearing their napkins as bibs at a table being served a stack of steaks by a London zoo keeper in cage in the centre with other anthropomorphised animals looking at them as people do in a zoo including a mouse, a family of rabbits next to two snails and a frog, two squirrels as a parent and child on its back, a sheep as a lady in a hat and shawl carrying a basket and umbrella, a fox with a horn around its shoulder, and two wolves in floral hats with a pair of hedgehogs, a family of three ferrets, and three pigs along the path by an enclosure of monkeys on a hill waving to the viewer in the background on one side and two pigeons on a wall by two kangaroos with joeys in their pouches and three giraffes fenced in on the other side, the London Underground roundel below. Good condition, restored paper losses, restored tears, crease marks, staining, backed on linen.
